Shitake mushrooms grow on a variety of dried up trees
such as brushwood and oak trees. Fromwell harvests Shitake mushrooms directly from forests
with these dried trees. It then adds the Shitake mushrooms into Gochujang made with grain syrup
from barley malt (no artificial sweeteners), and stir fries the ingredients together. Premium-grade Gochujang,
thanks to its chewy texture, was traditionally consumed in the royal palace. Historical records show
that the royal family enjoyed a variety of vegetables with this premium-grade Gochujang.

Gochujang is stir fried using a broth made with kelp and meat.
It has lower sodium content than standard Gochujang, and it goes well as a condiment
with not only Bibimbap or vegetable Ssambap (vegetable-wrapped rice),
but also Ddeok (rice cake) or other stir fried meat without any additional ingredients.

Dried Shitake mushrooms are a great source of nutrients such as minerals
and vitamin D. When dried, Shitake mushrooms offer a richer aroma
and flavor compared to when they are fresh. Used in various dishes,
Shitake mushrooms add a savory taste.
